My Blogging Goals

I think everyone should have goals in life, something to drive you to do better and give you motivation. Every time I come to this blog I try and set goals, and with only one month left of the year and a whole new one coming up I thought why not try and set myself some goals for this blog. It's something I am really trying to build and be proud of, and so here I am going to tell you some of the goals for Life of Eleanor that I hope to achieve by the end of 2018.

Numbers (Yes, I am going there)

Whilst people say all the time that blogging shouldn't be about numbers, there is no denying that they will always be important. It is definitely important to blog because you enjoy doing it, not to get followers, but a massive part of being a blogger is the audience reading your blog. One of my goals for the next year is to build my audience and gain a consistent following. When I write a post, I want as many people as I can to see it, and hopefully read it. I think 1000 is a good and achievable number. If I can reach 1000 followers on any of my platforms I will be over the moon!

Friends

I am loving the blogger community. Since joining and sorting my blog out I have met so many lovely people through twitter chats and comments. I'd love to be able to become good friends with other bloggers who share my interests and be able to do things together, be it photos, lunches or anything really!

Events

I am not quite so worried about getting brands to work with me quite yet, my biggest current goal is to just get my blog going so that I am comfortable enough around it to try and approach brands for collaborations. But one thing that I would love to do, not only for my blog but also to help me come out of my comfort zone is to attend a bloggers event. I am super shy, and the idea of going somewhere around lots of new people is very scary but it's something I'd love to do! Ideally I'd like to go with someone I know at least a little bit. Maybe another new blogger? Oooo....

Schedule

Right now I am posting at least once a week, and whilst this is currently okay for me I definitely want to be able to post 2-3 times a week. I want to schedule specific blogging time into my week so that I can create a consistent schedule for my blog posts. I think this comes down to routine and creating a routine (which I currently don't have) and I really want to create one.

So these are my 2018 blogging goals, do you have any?

  1. I'd love to try and make some 'real life' blogging friends, it's great talking to people online and through comments but I'd love to make actual friends and be able to go to lunches and things like that as well :)

  2. I totally agree that setting goals is great! Achievable goals are better and it's also important to know that if those goals didn't happen it's okay! I really enjoyed reading your list of blogging goals, making fellow friends in the blogger field and engaging with readers is also a main goal of mine! xx

    1. Thank you and I’m glad you liked it! I definitely agree that if goals don’t happen it’s okay, i wouldn’t want anyone to put any pressure on themselves over them!

  5. Last year going to more events was one of my goals too and I'm pleased to say I've been to a fair few! I think that's a great goal to have, especially as a new blogger because going to events really helps build your confidence and is of course excellent for networking! You're bound to make friends there too :)

    Good luck with your goals!

  6. I've just been thinking about my blogging goals and I think that the biggest thing for me is mainly that I should just blog. This year my blog has been rather silent. So one post per week would already be an achievement for me! ;) Thanks for sharing!

    Love,
    Dominique
